We are a group of adults with Type 1 diabetes who meet online monthly in a supportive environment to discuss the management of our diabetes, including the successes and concerns. Discussion topics include: available diabetes technology, peoples' experiences, upcoming available educational opportunities in the diabetes realm, diabetes friendly recipes and any diabetes topics that group attendees would like to discuss. We occasionally have guest speakers who discuss topics that are of interest to the group. There is no cost to attend the group.

Meetings have been virtual for the past few years.  Among us, there is a wide range of diabetic experience; some participants have had diabetes since early childhood, while others have been diagnosed with T1D as adults at various ages.

Although many of us live in the greater Hartford, Connecticut region, some people have moved away, but can continue to participate because the group is virtual.  We are open to having people from other parts of the country join us if they don't have a group in their area.

We are a friendly, welcoming community who value everyone's contributions, questions, input and concerns.  We all benefit from each other's diabetes life experiences.

We email a monthly listing of timely resources as well as meeting reminders for those on our email list.  Our meeting reminder emails will also include a link to the upcoming meeting.  For more information, questions, and/or to be added to our email list, please send an email to: gha.t1d.sg@gmail.com.   We don't share people's emails with anyone else.   Please allow a few days for a response.
